Quarterly Beach Cleanup 8-10am

Meet at Tigertail Beach. Garbage bags, work gloves & water provided. Wear shoes that may get wet, wearing sunscreen or a hat is recommended

Dear Stakeholders,

The mission of the organization, “Friends of Tigertail Beach”, is to preserve and protect Tigertail.

It is with that mission that we are writing to each of you. The lagoon at Tigertail is in danger. The objective of this letter is to discover whether or not you have an interest in saving the lagoon.

The technology and process to save it is available. The engineering studies; completed by Humiston & Moore Engineers prior to the most recent dredging at Hideaway on Marco Island, show that the area known as zone 3 is much shallower than 1 and 2 north and zone 4 ( the lagoon ) southward.  This is causing a two hour tide lag in the lagoon. The data shows that zone 3 will become shallower and the tidal flow to the lagoon decreased or perhaps in time even cut off.

There are important attachments to this letter containing greater detail. This information will help to explain the situation and solution. (posted June 21, 2019)
